Volkswagen set to overhaul fleet - 21/04/2005

Volkswagen has revealed that its line-up of models will be overhauled in a major way in the coming years.

The car-manufacturer has announced that it is to replace two of its top-selling models and augment its market capacity with a number of new vehicles.

The changes will be institutionalised on an international basis, with the new model of the Passat being launched around the globe later this year.

Furthermore, there are rumours that the Beetle may be getting a facelift in 2006.

A sporty new roadster based on the Concept R show car is slated for release in Europe in 2007, according to German media reports.

And a small SUV vehicle has been confirmed for release in the US, which will be based on the Golf and Jetta basic structure. It is slated for release in either 2007 or 2008
