VW adds 4Motion to its range - 17/02/2005
Volkswagen has added an extra vehicle to its Golf line-up, with the launch of four-wheel drive versions called 4Motion.
The vehicle is designed for drivers who frequently need to go on light off-road terrain such as fields or lakesides.
The 4Motion models use rear axle-mounted Haldex transmission to split the drive between the front and rear wheels.
VW claim that the second-generation Haldex system allows the transmission to be faster, more sensitive and quieter than before.
Drivers can order the vehicle either as a 2.0-litre GT FSI 150 PS or a 2.0-litre GT TDI 140 PS.
The 4Motion boasts twin exhaust pipes and chrome badges.
