Car buyers urged to check vehicle history - 07/04/2005
The car data check company Carwatch UK has reiterated the importance of checking a car's vehicle history before buying.
Carwatch UK does not believe that there are any "hard and fast rules" which apply to buying a second-hand car, but it does believe that consumers essentially have two choices: they can either choose to pay a little extra for the added protection of a dealer, or chance their arm with a private purchase.
Regardless of which option they choose, Carwatch UK recommends that consumers carry out a hidden history check in order to disclose any discrepancies in what the car claims to be.
The check should ensure that all the vehicle's information matches up in order to prevent consumers from buying a stolen, cloned or an imported car that does not meet UK specifications.
