New Mazda MX-5 hits the shops - 30/03/2005
Mazda's much-anticipated new MX-5 Icon Special Edition has arrived in British showrooms, and the car-manufacturer is expecting it to continue the MX5's extraordinary legacy.
The latest edition of the world's most popular roadster updates the car both inside and out, with a cabin decked out in orange-stitched black leather and a spunky 1.6-litre 110bps engine option. The popular 1.8-litre 146 bps will, of course, still be available.
The new Icon also offers improved fuel economy, with the 1.6 and 1.8-litre models offering 36.2mpg and 32.5mpg respectively.
Furthermore, the new car also offers consumers the option of personalising their car for a fee of £500, with a whole range of luxury accessories and additions for both the inside and the outside of the car.
For all its modifications, the car remains distinctly a Mazda MX-5, its stainless steel air intake mesh grille and style bar carrying on its style icon status into the 21st century.
