VW unveils Passat and Golf Plus details - 29/04/2005 Volkswagen has confirmed details for the release of its Passat and Golf Plus models. On June 24th, Volkswagen will launch its Passat model, which comes with a choice of four engines: the 1.6- and two-litre FSI petrol engines and the 1.9- and two-litre TDI turbo diesel engines. All engines come equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox and are available in three trim patterns, the S, the SE and the Sport. Prices for the Volkswagen Passat start at £14,995, and the top of the range 2.0 Sport TDI costs £19,810. Deliveries of the Volkswagen Golf Plus are set to begin on June 1st. Prices begin at £12,895 for the 1.4 S model and rise to £19,600 for the GTI TDI with DSG gearbox. This represents a £500 saving on the cost of a five-door Golf hatchback, with little significant material difference between the two models.
