Volkswagen expands Touareg range - 14/04/2005 Volkswagen's Touareg off-road range is set to be bolstered by the addition of two new trim levels, the car manufacturer has revealed. The top-performer off-roader will soon be available in SE and SE Sport models, both of which boast a 2.5-litre diesel engine capable of turning out 174bhp and top speed of 114mph. Volkswagen has added some £2945 worth of new equipment to the Touareg's standard features, including full leather upholstery with heated front seats, a top-of-the-range seven-inch colour screen satellite navigation system, as well as a six CD in-dash autochanger. The Volkswagen SE will start at £31,330 and the SE Sport will go on the market from £32,400. Volkswagen hopes that the new additions will bolster the Touareg in its competition with rivals cars in its class such as the BMW X5, the Mercedes M-Class and Volvo XC90.
