Ford launches latest New Focus - 04/04/2005 Ford has announced the launch of its new four-door Focus saloon, which will be available in the UK from May 21st this year, priced from £14,970. The latest addition to the Focus range will be available with both Ghia and Titanium specifications, with a choice of two petrol engines (1.6 or 2.0-litre) or three diesel (1.6. 1.8 or 2.0-litre). Ford chief designer Claudio Messale said: "The new Focus four-door demonstrates that Ford can create an elegant car with fresh thinking." He boasts that the car brings new levels of interior refinement and craftsmanship to the sedan range. Particular emphasis is also placed on the car's real-world practicality, with its maximum cargo capacity of 526-litres. The car's wide boot offers a tailgate opening of 1020 mm, with a load width between the inner wheelhouses of 1048 mm. The design imperative for the boot space was to incorporate a golf bag or two large suitcases, the manufacturer points out.
