VW Golf set for price cuts - 25/04/2005
Volkswagen is set to augment the market-leading value of the Volkswagen Golf with a series of price cuts and improved specifications.
It has announced that the cuts will start at £150 off the VW Golf S model and rise to a £910 on the VW Golf GT FSI/ GT TDi.
The VW Golf has been an enormous critical and commercial success since its relaunch in January 2004. In its first year alone it shifted 60,000 units and was also the top-selling car across Europe in 2004.
Furthermore, What Car? magazine crowned the fifth generation VW Golf as its Car of the Year 2004.
The new pricing system offers consumers greater choice based on the car's specification rather than just its price. For example, the comfortable Golf SE starts at £14,360 on the road, compared to £14,900 for the racier Golf Sport.
