New Ford Fiesta ST wins acclaim - 31/03/2005
The new Ford Fiesta ST has begun to garner plaudits in the national press, with Micheal Booth describing it as having "a great deal to recommend it".
Writing in the in the Independent, he compared the car favourably to others in its class, rating it more comfortable than the Mercedes A-class, for example.
He also rated it more favourably than some other cars in the Ford fleet, like the now-discontinued Focus RS, the "pit-bull manners" of which the Fiesta ST is happily lacking.
Which is not to say that the new car is lacking bite, however, as its 150bhp engine is capable of 0-60mph in just 7.9 seconds.
It married performance with economy as well, with a combined fuel consumption rating of 38.2mpg.
Furthermore, at just £13,595 on the road, the new Fiesta is the wallet-friendly way to owning a roaring little sports car.
