Renault launches its newly updated market leading Laguna model today.

On sale from March, the new model will be available in a choice of three equipment levels, four trim levels and eight engines.

Renault reports that some customers are so keen to own one that they have already placed orders for the new model.

Particular attention has been paid to the model's safety features, with Renault emphasising its assimilation of new systems and technologies into its design.

All new models are equipped with the third-generation Renault System for Restraint and Protection, for example, as well as a more efficient braking system.

It describes the new Laguna as a "driving pleasure in complete peace of mind".

A new flagship model, the Laguna GT, will be released simultaneously.

Prices start at ¬20100 (£13914) for the Hatchback version, and ¬21100 (£14608) for the Sport Tourer version.
