VW Polo GTI Prices Announced

The New VW Polo GTI is on sale now priced from £18,850, delivery of new models is expected in March 2015.

 

Volkswagen has released pricing for the Polo GTI from £18,850, ahead of first customer deliveries in March on the new 15 plate. This means the Polo will be cheaper than the Peugeot 208 GTi and RenaultSport Clio; on the other hand a base Ford Fiesta ST comes in at £1,600 less.

Every model comes fitted with the latest 189bhp 1.8-litre turbocharged engine. Unlike the previous model Polo GTI it does get the option of a six-speed manual gearbox. The seven-speed DSG gearbox is also available.

The base three-door models with the manual gearbox come in at £18,850, while the more practical five-door model adds £630 to the cost. Adding the DSG transmission adds a further £1,245, with the highest model priced at £20,725.

When compared to the previous GTI, the new VW Polo is more powerful as well as more efficient, with an additional 12bhp extracted from the 1.8-litre engine. The 0-62mph sprint takes 6.7 seconds – slightly faster than the Peugeot and Ford – and the car will go on to hit a top speed of 146mph.

Volkswagen offers a new Sport Performance Pack as an option, which incorporates Dynamic Chassis Control to the new Polo GTI.
