The New Renault Megane has finally hit the spotlight and it looks to give the VW Golf, Audi A3, Ford Focus, Seat Leon, Nissan Pulsar and Mercedes A-class a run for their money. A new dynamic look for this new French designed and built family hatch gives it the appeal much needed against these established rivals. "On the highly competitive market of compact saloons, it was vital that New Mégane should stand out right from the first glance", says exterior designer Franck Le Gall.
Due for official release at the 2015 Frankfurst Motor Show in the coming weeks, the new Megane will be one of the highlights of the show. The new Megane is a little lower than the previous generation, 25mm to be exact. It is 39mm wider at the back and 47mm wider at the front-end than the previous Megane. The wheelbase has also seen a little growth of 28mm in length. Franck goes on to say: "The precise, taut lines, which draw the whole design towards the front, are part of the side surfaces."
A new Megane GT version is available to order from launch, with a new sportier front bumper to give the car more of an exciting front-end look. You also get twin chrome exhaust tailpipes that are inspired from the world of F1. A Honey comb grill is added to the bumper for a more refined exterior. The Megane GT also gets “Renaultsport” badging on the rear, front and the wings.
This all-new sporty GT will be available to order in the new “Iron Blue” Paint and is combined with “Dark Metal” inserts at the front and on the door mirrors too, the inspiration for this comes from the GT Motoring world. Where the wheels are concerned, you get treated to 18” Aluminium alloys that are exclusive to the New Renault Megane GT.
We expect Renault to announce a new Renaultsport range not long after the release of the standard Megane. It is thought throughout the industry that there will be new engines to go with them, with the top spec Renaultsport Megane expected to have over 300bhp under the bonnet and of course more F1 inspired features than ever before.
