New 2013 Toyota Avensis

The new Toyota Avensis Saloon and new Avensis Tourer models have been given a subtle upgrade for 2013. Trim levels fall in-line with the new Auris and Verso models structured with the entry-level Active model  then there’s the Icon, Icon Plus and top of the range Excel these replace the previous trim levels the T2, TR, T4and T Spirit. There will be ten colours available including a new Pearl White. Engines will range from 1.8 Valvematic petrol units to the 2.0, 2.2 and 2.2 D-CAT diesel options. Depending on the engine, six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes are available as is Toyota’s Multidrive S CVT option.

The new trim levels carry over most of the specs from the previous range with some notable additions; all models now include ‘follow me home’ headlights and the audio system benefits from the addition of a DAB radio (not included with entry-level Active). The top of the range new Toyota Avensis Excel gets a smart new brushed silver finish on the dash which gives an extra sense of premium quality.

The good news for UK manufacturing and employment is that the Avensis will continue to be built exclusively at Toyota’s UK factory in Burnaston, Derbyshire along with the Toyota Auris
