The New Vauxhall Corsa VXR

Published Date: 18th Jan 2007

The new Vauxhall Corsa VXR hothatch is due to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007 using the European Opel trim.     Vauxhall is then due to make its own minor tweaks to the VXR before launching it on the UK market it in summer 2007.  Only available as a 3-door, the Corsa VXR is set to compete against the Renaultsport Clio 197 and the Mini Cooper S.    Like the Mini, the new Corsa VXR will use a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine with a six-speed gearbox.  The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine is already used in the Vauxhall Meriva VXR, but will be tuned for sharper responses and greater performance.    Producing 200bhp, the Corsa VXR will give 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 140mph.

The centre exit exhaust is similar to the Vauxhall Astra VXR and the rear also features fish-like ‘gills’ slashed into the rear bumper and a small spoiler just above the rear window. Inside the Corsa VXR has more sports features including Recaro sports seats, drilled alloy pedals and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.  Vauxhall Corsa models.   Buy for cash price or on a new car lease or PCP deal to suit you – cheap Vauxhall Corsa PCP deals or cheap Vauxhall Corsa HP deals.  Just select your chosen vehicle, add your options and your new car quote is ready for you.
