2020 All-Electric Vauxhall Corsa-e Prices | Release Date

Order books are open now for the Corsa-e, Vauxhall’s new all-electric version of its small hatchback, with first deliveries to customers expected in April 2020. The first full-electric version of one of Britain’s most popular small cars features a range of up to 205 miles and the ability to get a 80% charge in 30 mins (connected to a fast charger). Vauxhall is expecting the all-electric Corsa to be a big hit in the UK and says they will a have a full electric or plugin-hybrid version of every Vauxhall model by 2024.

2010 Corsa-e exteriorPurchasing a new full-electric Corsa-e means you are eligible for a government plug-in grant of up to £3500 and at the time of writing this article UK Car Discount have discounts of up to £3,872.

Whilst the price-tag is considerably more than conventional petrol or diesel Corsa models, the new Corsa-e will make a lot of sense for those covering higher daily mileage with easy access to a charger at work or at home.

Further incentives to purchase a new Corsa-e include the 100,000 miles or 8-year warranty to ensure the battery retains at least 70% of its charge or it will be replaced.

Corsa-e Engine, Battery and Charging

Powered by a 134bhp electric motor and 50kWh Lithium-Ion battery the new Corsa-e can cover up to 205 miles on a full charge.

Corsa-e chargerWith three drive models; Normal, Eco and Sport you can fine-tune how you drive the new Corsa-e with Eco model obviously giving you best battery life. Vauxhall claim the 205-mile range can be extended considerably using Eco mode.

Charging the Corsa-e from a standard 3-pin socket is around 20 hours, so if you going to make the leap to full electric for the first time you’ll ideally need to equip your home with a 7.4kW home wallbox which can get the Corsa-e up to full charge in around 7.5 hours (perfect for overnight charging).

Connect the Corsa-e to a commercial 100kW rapid charger, which are becoming more widely available at service stations and you can be up to 80% charged in just 30 mins, perfect for a quick pitstop if you are in a rush.

The new Corsa-e is nippy enough too, 0-62mph can be achieved in a fraction over 8 seconds and 0-31mph should take 3.1 seconds (very useful around town).
 

A Sportier Looking, More Eye-Catching Corsa

The SE Nav model is equipped with stylish 16-inch alloy wheels, whilst the top-grade Elite Nav gets 17-inch alloys. The top-grade Elite Nav model also includes contrasting roof and wing mirrors.
 

Interior Has A More Upmarket Feel

The Corsa-e feels upmarket inside, with more premium materials and soft touch finishes than ever before. There are also some nice touches like a sporty driver display especially impressive is the 7-inch TFT display on the Elite Nav model. The dashboard looks the part with the flush/angled infotainment screen and improved finish, it looks upmarket and stylish.
 

Corsa-e Models, Tech and Equipment

2020 Cora=e interiorThere are two models available the Corsa-e SE Nav and the top-grade Elite Nav, both come as standard with climate control, infotainment system with DAB radio, sat nav, voice control, Bluetooth for hands-free phone calls/music streaming and smartphone integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The SE Nav model is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen whilst the Elite Nav model is equipped with Navi Pro infotainment system and an impressive 10-inch screen.

There’s also plenty of driver aids and tech, both models including cruise control with speed limiter, a front camera system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning/lane assist, automatic emergency braking and rear parking sensor. The SE Nav has speed sign recognition whilst the Elite Nav has a much wider traffic sign recognition system. The Elite Nav also adds some other extra tech like rear-view camera and front parking sensor.

Other additional goodies included with top-of-the-range Corsa Elite Nav models are heated front seats/heated steering wheel and keyless entry.
