For the best ‘Mid-Sized SUV’ award, Fleet News cited the excellent hybrid powertrains; the tried and tested self-charging hybrid along with the all-new RAV4 plugin-hybrid model which went on sale early 2021 reducing CO2 emissions to as low as 22g/km.

The RAV4 is also available with an Intelligent AWD system, optional on self-charging hybrid models and standard on plug-ins.

The RAV4 is a popular choice for fleet buyers and Fleet news described it as ‘versatile and spacious, offering a lot of car for the money’.

A key factor in awarding the RAV4 the ‘Best Plug-In Hybrid Car’ title, was the highly efficient powertrain with a generous EV only range of up to 37 miles.

Fleet News also said the RAV4 is spacious, extremely reliable, offers a high-quality interior and is loaded with safety technology. All models include standard features like rear parking sensors, rear-view parking camera, intelligent adaptive cruise control with traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and auto-high beam.

Fleet News added ‘a mid-size SUV for just seven per cent benefit-in-kind is an incredible offering’.
