ŠKODA used the abbreviation RS for the first time in motorsport in 1974. In 2000, the synonym of sportiness entered the ŠKODA model range. This marked the beginning of the success story. 200,000 VRS models have been sold to date – a whopping 100,000 of which are third-generation OCTAVIAs and have been sold since 2013.
Even though the car is billed and revealed as the RS model, here in the UK it is known as the familiar yet iconic VRS model.
Packed with power and blessed with fuel efficiency
Skoda’s top-of-the-range Octavia VRS has a 245-PS, four-cylinder, petrol unit under the bonnet – that’s 15 PS more than the previous model had to offer. Torque levels reach a massive 370 Nm between 1,600 and 4,300 rpm. You get a choice of the 6-speed manual gearbox or a Skoda Octavia first OCTAVIA in the shape of a brand new 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission. Straight off the line, the hatch version of the RS 245 can reach 62 mph in just 6.6 seconds and the Estate does the same in 6.7 seconds. One of the most spectacular developments in the New Skoda Octavia VRS 245 is the Engine. When you accelerate quickly in the two highest gears on a motorway or country road, the Skoda Octavia instantly injects power. In fifth gear, the Skoda Octavia VRS 245 with the manual gearbox can rocket from 60-100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds (Estate: 6.5 seconds), while 80-120 km/h takes just 6.6 seconds (Estate: 6.8 seconds).

New Gloss-black features and acoustic high-performance exhaust
The New Skoda Octavia VRS 245 is the brand new face of the brand and has very sporty design details. This newly re-designed front section complete with a new radiator grille and a collection of wide honeycomb air inlets in the redesigned bumper provides the new Octavia VRS 245 with a prominent and dynamic exterior. The new Octavia VRS 245 also features slats on the radiator grille and the trim that frames the radiator grille and both come in gloss-black to give it a stand-out appearance. There are new headlight clusters in a crystal-look feature with full-LED technology and adaptive front headlights (AFS) as standard. The fog lights, tail lights and number plate illumination also feature LED technology and a crystal-clear appearance.
The exterior mirror housings and the trapezoid tailpipes also benefit from black inserts. Its radiator grille and the tailgate both have the VRS logo featuring a gloss-black V (for victory). The Skoda Octavia VRS has a new spoiler at the back of the hatchback or roof spoiler on the Combi to further attributes of the car’s masculinity and sporty design. The Skoda Octavia VRS 245 can also be heard and recognised by the high-performance sporty acoustics, thanks to the gravely sound of its exhaust system.
