McLaren’s expensive and most powerful ever car ever built has begun a tour development programme across Europe and the Middle East before getting its world debut at this year’s 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

This new track-only McLaren P1 GTR Monster will take a bow at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March and is scheduled for full production later this year. Meanwhile, the car has begun a testing schedule where development drivers are racking up thousands of kilometres at numerous UK and European locations as well as super-hot-weather testing in Bahrain and Qatar.

The track-bred race car will be the ultimate toy for 35 of the 375 McLaren P1 road car owners, who’ll be invited to buy the monstrous GTR for around £1.9m.

For this price, McLaren builds you a tuned-up, hard-core P1 that is illegal on public roads. Making up for this huge inconvenience, the twin-turbo V8 and electric motor powertrain is boosted from 903bhp to 986bhp – equivalent to 1,000PS, which put the car on the same page as the original Bugatti Veyron.

The P1 GTR isn’t looking to break speed records – but designed for ultimate lap times. And will help you achieve the bragging rights of any track record, McLaren invite the GTR buyers to take part in an intense driver programme, leading to a true F1-style racing experience, amounting to a true F1-style racing experience, you can take a look in the video below.

Each proud owner is treated like a newly-signed Formula 1 Team driver, benefiting from access to McLaren's inner circle and receiving expert track tuition from McLaren'sbest. It sounds like the experience that was offered with the old Ferrari FXX, where McLaren will keep the car for you and take it to various racing events and track days which you are welcome to compete in.

So even if you don't get to keep your P1 GTR in your garage, there's no doubt it's an expensive way of feeling like Jenson Button. Especially since you get to drive at some of the circuits on the current F1 calender around the world.
