WhatCar? has given its Car of the Year 2007 award to the new Vauxhall Corsa, it won the Supermini category and the overall Car of the Year 2007. The actual Corsa model it awarded the top slot to was the Corsa 1.4 Club Air Con 5dr.

Other cars shortlisted for the overall award were the Audi TT and the Citroen C4 Picasso. The Audi TT won best Coupe (Audi TT 2.0T FSI) whilst the Citroen C4 Picasso won best MPV (Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6 HDi SX EGS) The WhatCar? awards were divided into several categories with winners included – Best Small Family Car - VW Golf (VW Golf 1.6 FSI Match); Best Family Car - VW Passat (VW Passat 2.0 TDI S); the Best Hot Hatch was won by the Mini Cooper S; Best Open Top Car – VW Eos (VW Eos 2.0T FSI Sport); Best Compact Executive Car – BMW 320d ES and the Best Compact 4x4 – Land Rover Freelander 2.2 TD4 GS.
