New 2017 Volvo XC60 on Show at Manchester Arndale Centre

Volvo has chosen to show the New XC60 at the Manchester Arndale Centre on Friday 31st March

Volvo recently unveiled the much anticipated new XC60 premium SUV at the 87th Geneva Motor Show. This new version of the highly successful XC60 range marks nine years since the launch of the original model, it became the best-selling premium SUV in Europe, with close to a million units sold worldwide. The XC60 is one of Volvos best sellers and represents around a third of Volvo sales around the world.

New safety technology and comfort

This new premium SUV is one of the safest cars on the road, it is fully equipped with the latest technology. Steer Assist is the latest addition to Volvo’s next-generation City Safety system. Oncoming Lane Mitigation is also a new feature and uses the Steer Assist to help mitigate head-on collisions. The Steer Assist also plays a part in Volvo’s Blind Spot Indication System (BLIS) and helps reduce the risk of collisions while changing lanes.

Now to the Volvo’s Pilot assist which is an advanced semi-autonomous driver-assistance system, which helps the driver with the steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads. This function is speed limited up to 130 km/h and is only available in the new XC60 as an option.

New Volvo XC60 Performance

The new Volvo XC60 offers the award-winning T8 Twin Engine petrol plug-in hybrid that sits at the top of the range, it delivers a phenomenal 407 hp and accelerates from 0-62 mph in as little as 5.3 seconds.

“We have a wide range of powertrains. The new XC60 will be launched with the diesel D4 engine at 190 hp and the D5 with PowerPulse technology delivering 235 hp. We also have the petrol-powered T5 delivering 254 hp and the T6 which, with both turbo and superchargers attached, delivers 320 hp and 400 Nm of torque,” added Henrik Green.

The new Volvo XC60 not only delivers in power and performance but also fights harmful pollutants and bacteria with its brand new CleanZone four-zone climate control system that removes them outside the cabin to deliver Scandinavian-fresh air on the inside.

Volvo Cars’ driver infotainment and connected services offer, Sensus, and the Volvo On Call app both receive a graphical update with improved usability. As in the 90 series cars, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also available.

Volvo’s new XC60 is set to go into production in April at the Torslanda Plant in Sweden. So we won’t see any here in the UK until the summer, except the one that is on show in the Manchester Arndale shopping centre on Friday 31st March 2017
