All-New Arkana To Boost Renaults SUV and E-Tech Hybrid Car Line-Up
Published Date: 7th Oct 2020
Renault is set to launch an all-new Coupe-SUV model in 2021 called the Arkana, order books for the Renault Arkana will be open July 2021 with first deliveries being taken September 2021.
The new Renault will be almost unrivalled as a Coupe-SUV at it's price-point and it will further boost Renault's range of E-Tech hybrid and plug-in hybrid cars.
Renault Arkana Exterior
The new Arkana will feature a sloping coupe-like roofline and sleek profile which will set it apart in the SUV sector.
From the rear, the Arkana has a wide looking profile with an aggressive looking bumper.
The front grille features chrome surround and trim on the grill with C-Shape LED headlights that feature on all new Renault models built-in.
The Arkana will also be available in seven paint colours: Opaque White, Pearl White, Metal Black, Metallic Grey, Zanzibar Blue, Fire Red and Valencia Orange, the latter will be exclusive to the RS Line trim.
Renault Arkana Engines
The Arkana is built on the same CMF-B platform as the Clio and Captur and the model range will include a full E-Tech hybrid powertrain which will further bolster Renault’s E-Tech hybrid range.
The E-Tech features the same 1.6-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery found in Renaults compact SUV hybrid, the Captur E-Tech.
The Arkana will also be available with a mild hybrid powertrain that uses the same 1.3 petrol engine found in the Renault Clio. The mild hybrids will charge a smaller battery during coasting and using brake regeneration.
Renault Arkana Interior
The Arkana interior will feature plenty of tech and depending on the trim-level you choose, will get a choice of 4.2, 7 or 10-inch driver displays. Lower grade models will get a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen while higher grade models will get Renault's impressive 9.3-inch portrait touchscreen seen in other models across the range. The infotainment system will have smartphone mirroring in the form of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support as standard.
Renault Arkana Driver Tech
The full trim-level line-up has not been confirmed by Renault, but driver tech and safety aids will be plenty. Fully equipped models will be capable of semi-autonomous driving with Renault’s Motorway and Traffic Jam Companion which can control the cars speed, acceleration, braking and steering on motorways.
Driver tech such as adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning/lane keep assist, parking sensors and parking cameras will all be available.
Trim Line-up To Include Sport RS Line
Renault has not yet released full details of the trim line-up but have confirmed the Arkana will be available in the sporty RS Line trim.
RS Line models will include exterior and interior sporty styling features like a stronger rear bumper and twin chrome exhausts. The interior will feature aluminium pedals, upholstery red detail stitching, carbon inserts and red trim on the dash and door panels.
