The New Model S P100D has been upgraded with bigger 100kWh battery, with the Ludicrous speed mode enabled the all electric car will go from 0-60mph in just 2.5 seconds.
Now to put this into perspective only two hyper cars in the world get to 60mph faster, the Ferrari La Ferrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder both of which are hybrids and use electric motors and batteries alongside performance engines.
The Model S family saloon achieves all this while being cheaper, having 4 doors, five seats and not a limited production run, hyper car.
The new battery not only increases the performance of the Model S but also extends the maximum range to 380 miles, making it the longest range production electric vehicle in the world and the first EV to go beyond 300miles.
The battery pack will be available as a £7,500 option on a new build and a £15,000 for existing P90D owners to upgrade the speed and range.
Tesla plan to add the option to the Model X as soon as possible, boosting the range and performance .
