New Vauxhall Insignia

Published Date: 1st May 2008

Vauxhall has recently released pictures of the new model Vauxhall Insignia which is set to rival the hugely popular new model Ford Mondeo.    The new model Vauxhall Insignia, a replacement of the Vauxhall Vectra, is set to be a star attraction at the British Motor Show this July and will then be available in October.

The new Vauxhall Insignia has very little in common with the Vectra model it replaces.  It has very different styling, for example the new streamlined coupe-like roofline, also the familiar V-bar grille has been replaced.

The new Vauxhall Insignia will also feature the new Vauxhall Griffin logo when it is launched.  This updated logo replaces the current red colour with a bolder black finish and this will be used on all new Vauxhall cars once the Insignia has been launched.

The new Vauxhall Insignia is 21cm longer and 5cm wider than the Vectra model but is the same height.   It will be available in three bodystyles – saloon, hatch and estate.

At launch, the Vauxhall Insignia will be available in five engine types which all meet Euro 5 emissions standard.   There will be three petrol engines ranging from a 4-cylinder 140PS up to a V6 engine with 260PS.   Vauxhall is also introducing two new 2.0 litre direct-injection diesel engines that will give either 130PS or 160PS.    At a later date Vauxhall will introduce an ultra-low CO2 emitting engine to the range plus more powerful engines.
