Great news that the next generation Vauxhall Astra is to be built on Merseyside at the Vauxhall Ellesmere Port plant with a £125 million investment in the Vauxhall plant creating hundreds of new jobs in the uk Automotive Industry.

The Vauxhall site at Ellesmere Port has been producing New Cars for 50 years and employs over 2,000 people and the news comes on the back of yesterdays Unite Union vote to accept the pay and conditions package offered by GM

The decision to build the New Vauxhall Astra at the Ellesmere Port plant will hit the GM production plant in Bochum, Germany and will also result in many additional Jobs in the uk automotive supply chain with component supply also shifting back to the uk.
