New Toyota Auris Touring Sport Debuts

Toyota are introducing a new model to the Auris range the new Toyota Auris Touring Sports. This is first time an estate will be offered in the Auris range and it was also be the first in it's class to offer a full hybrid powertrain utilising Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive technology and there's good news for British manufacturing and jobs, the new Auris Touring Sports model will be built exculsively in the UK at Toyota's factory in Burnaston, Derbyshire where the Auris Hatchback and Toyota Avensis models are already being built.
The same engine options that the Toyota Auris hatchback has should be available, with a 1.33 petrol and a 1.6 Valvematic petrol unit available (emissions of 127g/km and 139g/km respectively) and a 1.4 D-4D diesel option (emmissions of just 109g/km). The full hybrid option comes with a 1.8 petrol engine and with a reasonable 134bhp it can cover 0-62mph in 10.9 seconds but still manages to boast emissions of just 86g/km CO2.
The new Toyota Auris Touring Sports will be available in four trim levels the entry-level Active plus the Icon, Sport and Excel.
The new Toyota Auris Touring Sports Active model is available with the 1.33 petrol or 1.4-litre diesel engines and includes:
- Roof Rails
- 15” steel wheels
- Follow me home headlights
- Automatic air con
- A four speaker audio system with USB support
- A two-way luggage net
- Class leading load space
- Vehicle Stability Control
- Hill Start Assist Control
- Seven airbags
The new Toyota Auris Touring Sports Icon is available with all engine options so you have the additional choice of 1.8 hybrid or the 1.6 Valvematic petrol unit. Also available is either a six speed manual or Multidrive S continuously variable transmission.
The icon model adds:
- 16” alloy wheels (or 15” with the Hybrid options)
- Front fog lamps
- Twin level boot floor and storable tonneau cover
- Toyota's touchscreen entertainment system with Bluetooth support
- An audio system with the addition of a DAB Radio
- A Rear view camera
The new Toyota Auris Touring Sport model includes some eye-catching sport modifications and adds:
- Chunky 17” alloy wheels (or 16” alloy wheels with 1.4 diesel option)
- A Sport grille, rear diffuser and an exhaust finisher
- Rear privacy glass
- Front sport seats
The top of the range new Toyota Auris Touring Sport Excel models adds/includes:
- 17” alloy wheels (or 16” alloy wheels with 1.4 diesel option)
- Automatic windscreen wipers
- Automatic headlamps
- Power folding door mirrors
- Black velour seat trim with leather bolsters and heated seats function
- Dual-zone climate control
- Smart entry and start system
- Intelligent Parking Assist
- Cruise Control and speed limiter (only available with the 1.6 petrol model)
A number of features are available as options across the range:
- Toyota Touch and Go sat nav (Icon, Sport and Excel models)
- Intelligent Park Assist (Icon and Sport models)
- Panoramic roof (Excel model)
- A comfort pack (Icon and Sport models) which includes automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, electrochromatic rear view mirror, smart entry and start system plus power folding door mirrors.
