The new Mazda6 2.2 diesel (150ps) has won the ‘Eco Car Award’ at the annual Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) awards held in Glasgow.
The frugal diesel offers fuel economy up to 67.3mpg (combined) and CO2 emissions from 108g/km without sacrificing performance, able to achieve 0-62mph in 9 seconds with a top speed of 130mph.
The Mazda6 takes advantage of the Japanese company’s ground breaking technology SKYACTIV a combination of lighter materials and cleaner more fuel efficient engines enabling Mazda to deliver more frugal cars without a loss in performance. It also utilises Mazda’s stop/start system call i-stop which Mazda claim is the best in the industry.
The Mazda6 also claimed ‘Best family Car’ in the Autoexpress New car Awards earlier this year.
As well as winning numerous awards the brand new Mazda6 saloon and tourer models achieved top scores in all four Euro NCAP tests - Adult protection, child protection, safety assist systems and pedestrian which make it one of the safety cars you can drive.
The Mazda6 offers a lartge selection of engines and options across the range whether you are looking at the new Mazda6 Saloon model or the Mazda6 Tourer estate model.
