Cars such as the cheap new Mazda5 and cheap new Mazda 3 have helped the Japanese company to achieve record-breaking profits over the last six months.
Mazda is expecting sales in the coming months to be even stronger as it launches the cheap new Mazda MX-5 and cheap new Mazda2 city-car in the US and across Europe.
The cheap new MX-5 is the best selling roadster in history and it is expected that another 18,000 units will be sold in Europe when it is launched.

The firm's profits were boosted by a strong month of sales in September, which saw over 9,000 new Mazdas sold in the UK.
The figures consisted of the sale of 800 cheap new Mazda2s, 1,400 units of the sporty new Mazda RX-8 and 3,400 cheap new Mazda3 models.
September's car sales are traditionally the highest of the year because of the launch of new number plates during August. Mazda's 9,000-plus sales gave it 2.2 per cent of the entire cheap new car market.
