Ford has released details of the latest generation Ford Fiesta and it looks Extraordinary to say the least

This New Ford Fiesta offers a fresh approach to the UK best seller of the last decade – billed as the most technologically advanced small car in the world– at an exclusive event in Cologne, Germany. The new generation Ford Fiesta is shown with state-of-the-art driver assistance options and the most connectivity features ever in a small car built in Europe. This is part of a record number of variants, the most in over 40 years in the Fiesta model.

The newest and most exciting Fiesta range ever meets growing consumer demand for better choice and added design style within the B-car segment. Ford revealed four distinctive production variants of the Fiesta, including the stylish Fiesta Titanium, the Ford Performance-inspired Fiesta ST-Line, the upscale Fiesta Vignale and the Fiesta Active crossover.

Ford Fiesta Titanium

The Titanium model accounted for nearly 50 per cent of Ford Fiestas sold in 2016. The new stylish Fiesta Titanium will be available from release of the new version and Ford is anticipating a high number of orders for this model. You can expect a high specification and premium quality Titanium that will be delivered to Fiesta customers across Europe. The High spec models of the Ford line-up made up almost 60 per cent of cars sold in the first 10 months of last year.

Ford Fiesta ST-Line

Ford released a new model to the Fiesta line-up in 2016 called the ST-Line that was injected with exterior and interior styling inspired by Ford Performance combined with Ford EcoBoost petrol and Ford TDCi diesel engines, ideal for customers who like the sporty styling and performance of Ford’s ST models – and don’t need the whole performance delivered by the ST engines and also the custom chassis with sports tech. The Ford Fiesta ST-Line will feature in the new Generation model line-up as a sporty alternative.

Ford Fiesta Vignale

This new generation Fiesta hatchback will can now be ordered in the luxurious Ford Fiesta Vignale model – meaning you benefit from the Ford Vignale executive ownership experience. The Fiesta Vignale follows the same suit as the S-MAX, Mondeo, Edge and Kuga Vignale models as the most prestigious of the Ford models within Europe, while also offering Vignale 18-inch alloys wheel designs, luxurious exterior detailing and colours inserts, and hexagonal-quilted, tuxedo-stitched leather seats.

Ford Fiesta Active Crossover

Ford’s Fiesta Active Crossover marks the first ever hatchback crossover from the US car giant, marrying tough SUV-inspired design with the higher driving position. You get roof bars and additional cladding with the usual true Fiesta driving dynamics and handling. This model is unique in that it has been labeled a hatchback but has all the features of a top selling crossover, only time will be able to measure Ford’s success with this experimental model.

 

New Generation Fiesta Packed with Technology

Ford describes it as “The world’s most technologically advanced small car”. This new generation Ford Fiesta includes a segment-leading range of technologies to increase comfort, safety and convenience. The new Advance in driver assistance technologies included in the new Fiesta are supported by two cameras, three radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors that can monitor 360 degrees of the car, and can also scan the road in front of you to a maximum distance of 130 metres – a little more than the length of a full size football pitch.

Having SYNC 3 gives an amazing in-car communication and entertainment setup that will enable Fiesta drivers to control navigation, audio, and easily connect your Smartphone and use it’s apps with simple voice commands.

For the very first-time on a Fiesta there is now an enhanced version of Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, this will detect pedestrians that are near or on the road ahead, or if anyone may cross the vehicle’s path, using light from the Fiesta’s headlights at night.

Ford is also offering Active Park Assist with Perpendicular Parking for the first time on a Fiesta. This can help drivers find spaces to park and maneuvers the car hands-free. Other enhancements include the technology to deploy brakes if the driver does not respond to the system guide and proxy warnings while enacting forward and reverse manoeuvres, and a collision with a parked car or obstacle to the front or rear is imminent.

Traffic Sign Recognition is available to monitor multiple speed limits that apply to individual motorway lanes displayed on overhead gantries, and update the display if the driver changes lane.

Auto High Beam has improved too and now performs more effectively in situations where a central barrier divides opposing carriageways, and can also detect oncoming vehicles to avoid dazzling drivers positioned above the central divide.

New Generation Ford Fiesta Engines

Ford offer a simple range of classic Euro Stage 6 petrol and diesel engines that offer both performance and fuel-efficiency that heavily contributes to the class-leading driving experience that the new Generation Fiesta offers.

The award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol unit is available in the 100 PS, 125 PS and 140 PS, and also a brand new six-speed manual gearbox with a reduced friction that cuts CO2 emissions to 97 g/km. There is an optional six-speed automatic gearbox for the EcoBoost 100 PS engine that comes equipped with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The new generation Ford Fiesta is also available with the 120 PS 1.5-litre TDCi engine, which is the first high-power diesel unit to be offered in the Fiesta range – it delivers a great combination of power, torque and fuel efficiency for a fun to driving experience and has impressive CO2 emissions of 89 g/km. This model is also available with the 1.5- litre TDCi engine, offering 85 PS – 10 PS more than the current most fuel-efficient Fiesta – while delivering a magical 82 g/km of CO2 in combination with Ford’s new six-speed manual gearbox.
