New Audi A4 Model

Audi has launched the fourth generation A4 at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. It will also be available to order in September but won’t arrive until January 2008.

The new model is longer to give more space for rear passengers. This also means more storage capacity, with 480 litres available with the seats in place and 962 litres when seats are folded.

Audi hope that the new model A4, with its improved engineering and technology will easily compete with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 3-Series.

At launch, 2 direct-injection petrol engines will be available plus 3 diesel engines. The first petrol is a turbocharged 1.8 litre 4-cylinder TFSI, giving 168bhp and the second is 3.2 litre V6 giving 261bhp. The 3 TDI turbo diesel engines are – a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder common-rail engine (141bhp); a 2.7 litre V6 (187bhp) and a 3.0 litre V6 (236bhp).

The design of the new model Audi A4 is significantly different to the current model and it shares many features of the new model Audi A5 Coupe. The dashboard, switchgear and instruments are the same as the A5. Standard features include automatic air conditioning, 6 airbags and an electrically operated handbrake. Optional extras include sat-nav and Audi’s multi-media interface.
