Exterior styling is subtle, down the sides there are some more distinctive ‘sculpted’ lines, there is a new hexagonal grille and new front LED lights (higher grade models get rear LED lights).

New Audi A3 Interior Makeover

Inside the new Audi A3 is where you will notice the biggest changes.  The centrepiece of the dashboard is a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment (standard on all models) with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support and Navigation.

If you really want to push the boat out, you can upgrade to the ‘Virtual Cockpit Plus’ 12.3-inch digital display (standard on top grade Edition 1 models).

As you’d expect from an Audi the interior looks and feels classy, materials and build quality is for the most part excellent and there’s a new leather multi-function steering wheel too.

The entry-level A3 Technik is fairly-well stacked with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, electrically adjustable, heated and folding door mirrors and air con. New Audi A3 Engine Line-up

The engine line-up includes a 1.5-litre 148bhp petrol badged as TFSI and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel available as 114bhp or 148bhp power outputs.  The 114bhp diesel is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox while the more powerful 148bhp models get a 7-speed automatic.

The much anticipated 1.5 litre 148bhp petrol engine with mild hybrid technology will also be released later. The power train uses deceleration and brake regeneration technology to ‘recycle’ energy and feed it to a 48v battery.

The staggered roll-out will include at a later date a new sporty S3 model paired with a 2.0-litre petrol engine (300bhp) and a new RS3 paired with a very punchy 2.5-litre petrol engine that will provide in excess of 400bhp.

Further down the line there are plans for a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option.
