The 2017 model year updates for the Estate and Saloon will include a new world first. The Mazda 6 is already renowned for its excellent handling and engaging drive and now the new Mazda 6 will now come with G vectoring control or GVC. This technology is implemented to achieve a deeper connection between the driver and car. GVC will adjust the torque output of the engine in response to steering input by the driver.
The decrease in sound and noise from the engine comes from improvement made in the sound insulation on board the 2017 model year. Improved door seals tighter fitting tolerances between fixings and panels, new sound insulting materials added to the underside, rear console, headliner and doors. The addition of laminated side windows, further reduce wind noise coming into the cabin.
2017 Mazda 6 Engine Line Up
Engines for the new model year include two power levels of the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 litre petrol, 145 PS and 165 PS. A new 2.5 litre petrol SKYACTIV-G with 192 PS. The diesel line up consists of a 2.2 litre unit with differing power outputs 150 PS and 175 PS. These new engines have been refined with a high precision boost control to be more responsive and a damper system to be quieter in operation.
Other new feature include a newly designed steering wheel, an updated high resolution head up display, a new 4.6 inch full colour LCD driver information display and a new exterior colour Machine Grey.
New safety updates for the Smart City Braking include a forward sensing camera instead of the outgoing infra-red laser previously used. Traffic sign recognition will now identify No entry and speed limit signs and warn the driver if these limits are exceeded.
