The Mazda RX-8 beat off rivals to scoop award for best coupe; for the third year in a row at the What Car? Awards ceremony on Saturday.
The magazine commented on the "taut and agile" handling of the vehicle with a supple and yet smooth driving path.
Standard features such as electrically adjustable leather seats, CD changer and climate control, were all given nods too.

Editor of What Car? magazine, David Motton, commented: "The RX-8 has now claimed a hat-trick of awards from us, which should come as no surprise to anyone who has ever driven one.

Other reviewers have mentioned the car's 1.3 litre, twin bank rotary engine, providing a "sensational" driving experience that allows for practicality without compromising on the driving experience.
