Toyota New Car Warranty - If you're considering a new Toyota car, you may wonder what warranty coverage it offers. Knowing what your warranty covers and for how long is an important part of the car-buying process. Luckily, Toyota offers several different warranties that cover different parts and services, giving buyers peace of mind when it comes to their vehicle purchases. Let’s take a closer look at what types of warranties are available from Toyota.
Toyota provides up to 10 years/100,000 miles of warranty on new cars, with an additional 12 months/10,000 miles of coverage with every qualifying service.
Standard Vehicle Warranty The standard vehicle warranty from Toyota covers all defects in materials or workmanship for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first). It also covers repairs to correct any materials or workmanship defects necessary to keep the car running properly. The standard warranty covers all components except those listed as exclusions, such as tires, batteries and other wear-and-tear items that must be replaced due to normal use. It does not cover track day usage or racing applications.
Hybrid and Fuel Cell Warranties In addition to the standard vehicle warranty, Toyota also offers Hybrid Battery and Mirai Fuel Cell Warranties. The hybrid battery warranty covers any defective parts or workmanship related to the hybrid battery pack for 8 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first). The Mirai Fuel Cell Warranty covers defective parts or workmanship related to the fuel cell stack for 8 years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first). Both warranties offer peace of mind in knowing that if something goes wrong with these components, they will be covered by the manufacturer.
Hybrid vehicles come with a 15-year battery warranty, and fuel cell vehicles come with a 5-year Mirai Fuel Cell Warranty.
Anti-Corrosion and Perforation Warranties Toyota also offer an anti-corrosion and perforation warranty which provides coverage for up to 6 years with no mileage limit. This type of warranty helps protect your vehicle against rusting due to manufacturing flaws or defects in materials used during assembly. It is important to note that this type of coverage does not extend beyond factory-installed sheet metal panels, so if you add aftermarket accessories such as racks or spoilers, they will not be covered under this warranty plan. Additionally, there are some exclusions, such as paint damage caused by environmental conditions such as salt air near beach areas, so it's essential to read through your owner’s manual carefully before relying on this type of coverage for your vehicle purchase.

Paintwork And Surface Rust Warranties Finally, Toyota also offers paintwork and surface rust warranties which provide coverage for up to 3 years with no mileage limit on factory paintwork and surface rust protection treatments applied at the time of sale on new vehicles only. This type of coverage helps protect against fading, cracking, peeling and/or bubbling caused by defects in materials used during assembly; however, it does not cover any wear-and-tear damage caused by daily use, such as scratches or dents inflicted by debris hitting the car while driving down the road.
