The UK’s best selling Ford Fiesta was on change over recently so with shortages of new cars during the transition it’s dropped down a couple of places this time around but expect it to go straight back up. Whilst not being the cheapest supermini on the market the Fiesta has delivered outstanding sales over the months with a 1.5 litre diesel and award winning 1.0 litre ecoboost petrol engines available in various power outputs.

2. New Volkswagen Golf with 12,800 units sold

Another of the classic household names in family hatchbacks is the Volkswagen Golf, it was actually the UK’s top seller back in June this year. The all rounder that’s been described as the best hatchback in the world continues to drive sales up for Volkswagen. Alongside the usual fossil fuel only engines, there’s a hybrid, the GTE that can run on battery power alone for 25-30 miles until the 1.4 TSI petrol kicks in.

1. New Nissan Qashqai with 13,499 units sold

This month’s best seller the Nissan Qashqai has also been on model changeover receiving a host of new changes to the inside and outside. We’ve had just over ten years of the Qashqai and many manufacturers have tried their own recipe for a slice of the SUV market but none have managed to match the month after month volumes of the Qashqai.
