Nissan has teased the release of the New Qashqai for some time, but now it’s a reality as we see one of the first Nissan Qashqai’s roll off the production line in Sunderland. The image shows the all-new Vivid Blue metallic, which looks like the ideal colour to order this amazing new SUV in. Europe’s best-selling SUV will benefit from a number of upgrades in design, performance and technology.

The New 2017 Nissan Qashqai will now be available with ProPILOT autonomous driving for the first time ever. It controls the acceleration, braking and steering on motorways in a single lane and works whether you’re in heavy traffic or cruising at high speeds.

The new enhancements will strengthen the Qashqai’s long-standing position as Europe’s No.1 best seller. Nissan invested heavily in the new Qashqai by injecting £53m into Nissan’s UK Operations, including increased production at the Sunderland plant where the new Qashqai is built.

The New Nissan Qashqai is to be manufactured 24 hrs a day at the Sunderland Plant, thanks to the car now be built on both production lines. The Nissan Qashqai is now the best-selling car built in Britain, with being exported to over 100 different countries around the world.

Colin Lawther, Nissan’s Senior Vice President for Manufacturing, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management in Europe, said: “The Nissan Qashqai is the original urban crossover and remains the undisputed leader in the crossover segment.

“In the decade since Qashqai launched we have built more than 2.8m in Sunderland, taking plant output to record levels. Offering new premium design features and Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, this new model marks a new chapter for Qashqai and for our manufacturing operations.”

Since the start of production at the Sunderland Plant, the Qashqai has reached the milestones of 1m and 2m units faster than any other car in the history of the UK, and is now on its way to reaching 3m record time.

The first Nissan Qashqai went on sale in 2007. This new 2017 version represents a major upgrade for the second-generation model, launched in 2014. It goes on sale across Europe from next month. In late 2016 Nissan announced that production of the all-new third-generation Qashqai would also be at the record-breaking Sunderland Plant.
