New VW Passat Highline Plus

The new VW Passat Highline Plus is a new trim level that's even greater value than the standard Passat Highline, and it will open for ordering on Friday 30 October. This new model, which is available in Saloon and Estate, has all the specification that you’ll find on the standard Passat Highline plus that little bit extra. For just £750 over the cost of the Highline, customers get:
- RNS 310 satellite navigation unit (as seen on the Touran Match), which will be optional on the standard Highline for £795 - see below
- Bluetooth telephone connectivity with a 2.8-inch touch screen adaptor
- Chrome front grille surround and louvres
The new Highline Plus will have the same engine range as the Highline, including the new Highline 2.0 TDI 140PS BlueMotion Technology.
RNS 310 satellite navigation
The RNS 310 unit is a CD-based satellite navigation system with integrated radio and MP3-compatible CD player. It has a touchscreen operation on a 5-inch colour screen, SD card reader, and aux-in slot for connection to external multimedia devices.
Bluetooth touch adaptor
The Bluetooth touch adaptor works in conjunction with the Factory-fit phone preparation. The vehicle is equipped with an integrated cradle that is fitted to the dashboard, which contains a removable Bluetooth touch adaptor. The touch adaptor has a 2.8-inch screen displaying clear icons and, once paired with a mobile phone, the screen displays the phone book, text message alerts and caller ID. Calls can be answered or terminated using the multifunction steering wheel.
Unlike the current Factory-fit preparation, which is only compatible with RSAP-enabled mobile phones, the touch adaptor can connect to most Bluetooth-enabled phones, including the iPhone and Blackberry. However, not all phones are compatible.
Chrome grille with chrome louvres
A chrome grille surround and chrome louvres, previously seen on the SEL model*, sets the Highline Plus visually apart from the Highline Because of Factory constraints, the Highline Plus 2.0 TDI 140PS BlueMotion Technology will have the same grille as that found on the Highline version. It will not have the chrome grille.
