New Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer
Published Date: 26th Sep 2008
A variant of the new Vauxhall Insignia, the estate version, will be launched at the Paris Motor Show this October. Known as the Sports Tourer, it will then go on sale in the UK in Spring 2009.
The engine choices will include the same 3 petrol and 2 diesel engines already available in the hatch and saloon models of the Vauxhall Insignia – the 130 and 160PS 2.0 litre CDTi, the 220PS 2.0i turbo plus the top range 260PS 2.8i V6 engine which can achieve 0-60mph in just 6.7 seconds.
However, the new Sports Tourer will also feature 2 new engines - a more powerful turbodiesel and a smaller capacity turbocharged petrol engine. Vauxhall has also announced that an ecoFLEX Sports Tourer with lower emissions will also be made available in the near future.
Along with the Vauxhall Insignia hatchback and saloon versions, the estate will be available with front and all-wheel drive plus their FlexRide system with Adaptive Stability Technology. There will be plenty of room for 5 adults plus lots of storage capacity. Exact storage capacity figure will be announced at the Paris Show.
