New Vauxhall Insiginia Is Cleanest In Class

Published Date: 12th Jun 2013

The latest new Vauxhall Insignia has set a new benchmark for vehicles in it’s class with a diesel offering that makes it the cleanest in it’s sector taking the crown form the previous class leader the Mazda6 (the cleanest Mazda6 offers emissions of 104g/km).

The new 2.0 CDTi Ecoflex with Start/Stop technology  comes in a 120bhp or 140bhp options and delivers a fuel economy of  76.3mpg (combined) and CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km. The new Vauxhall Insignia CDTi Ecoflex should be without question a very popular choice for business and fleet buyers.

When compared to the cleanest rivals in class the Insignia CDTi Ecoflex wins hands-down. It’s cleanest competitors fall short thus far with emissions of 104g/km for the Mazda6, 112g/km for the Mondeo  and 109g/km for the BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics.

If you fancy a diesel with some more power there is also a 2.0 litre diesel option (163 bhp) that offers a combined fuel economy of 65.7pmg and CO2 emissions of 114g/km. There are plenty of petrol options to choose from with various 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 litre petrol turbo units. The 2.0 litre petrol option offers 250 bhp and optional four wheel drive whilst the new Vauxhall Insignai 1.6 SIDI Turbo model offers a new state-of-the-art cleaner petrol option that gives 170 bhp with low emissions and very good fuel economy.  All transmissions are 6-speed and the automatic transmissions benefit from  ‘ActiveSelect’ for sequential shifting.

The new Insignia has some been given some subtle improvements to it's exterior looks with a softer front-end and slightly restyled rear which are in keeping with new Vauxhall ‘family’ design.
