The new Mazda 2 was awarded a 5-star NCAP safety rating and has also won more than 20 awards including Car of the Year awards in Austria, Belgium, Greece, Denmark, New Zealand plus the Japan RJC Car of the Year.
The 3-door Mazda 2 model will have the same engine units as the 5-door - MZR l.3 litre and 1.5 litre petrol engines plus the MZ-CD 1.4 litre turbo diesel. The new Mazda 2 model is particularly light, with a weight of under 1,000 kilograms and the engines give excellent fuel economy and low CO2 emissions.
Mazda will also be displaying other models at the Geneva Motor Show this year including an upgraded Mazda RX-8 coupe model and the Mazda 5 Hydrogen RE Hybrid.
