The name explains all you need to know – specifically designed and engineered for adrenaline fueled track enthusiasts by the legendary tuning entity that is NISMO. Designed to deliver a higher level of performance than the standard GT-R, it is priced at £105,000 (€118,900).
This new Track Edition sits on the top perch above the Premium, Prestige and Black Edition in the GT-R line-up, and in-line with the flagship GT-R NISMO.
Performance changes include an improved dynamic experience with bespoke Bilstein Damptronic® suspension installed. Racing-tuned custom set-up, designed to optimise straight-line speed and cornering stability. The latest lightweight anti-roll bar has also been installed to increase rigidity and reduce weight.
Black forged 20-inch aluminium wheels and tyres by Nismo are part of the GT-R Track Edition package, and a much wider front bumper is included. The exact specification varies from market to market. For example, Track Edition cars in Germany comes with carbon Recaro seats as standard, with a carbon rear spoiler available as an option too. While in the UK and France, the black and red Recaro seats from the GT-R Black Edition are fitted, while the carbon spoiler is standard. A boot lid made from carbon and the carbon-backed seats are optional extras.
The one this that is consistent throughout all countries is that – a unique Track Edition badge made from carbon is attached to the dash. This new Nissan GT-R Track Edition is based on the 2017 year GT-R, first unveiled at the New York Motor Show. Building on the foundations of the GT-R’s unrivalled supercar heritage, the four-wheel-drive super-coupé also features a striking new aerodynamic exterior design.
This is coupled with a new premium sophisticated cabin for maximum driver comfort and style, and includes a new eight-inch Nissan Connect touch-screen infotainment system and a phenomenal 11-speaker Bose® audio unit.
The Huge Power comes from a racing-tuned 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 developing 570PS and 637Nm of torque. Every engine is hand-assembled from start to finish by the same meticulously trained technician - called a Takumi – which means ‘master craftsman’ in Japanese.
Ever since 2007, Nissan’s GT-R has been at the height of the premium sports car sector – an adrenaline fueled performance four-seater for enthusiastic drivers, a car which completely embodies Nissan’s brand slogan – Innovation that Excites.
