New Nissan Ariya Exterior

Radical may not be the correct description, but the new Ariya is certainly something different and futuristic looking. The roofline slopes down towards the rear giving the Ariya a sleek and coupe-like look, a roof spoiler further adds something of a sporty feel.

At the front of the vehicle is what Nissan call its new ‘shield’ design and the Nissan logo will be backlit with LEDs to add a nice touch, even the wheels are futuristic looking and something that catches the eye.

The spacious SUV is powered by twin motors and either a 63kWh or 87kWh battery giving a range of up to 233 and 310 miles respectively, which stacks up very well against rival electric cars currently available.

All models push out a decent amount of power too, a standard 2-wheel drive model equipped with a 63kWh battery offers 215bhp while models equipped with the 87kWh battery boast 239bhp.

Even entry-level 2-wheel drive models equipped with the 64kWh battery can you get you from 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds models which means they are no slouch. The top end of the range is an Ariya e-4orce 87kWh Performance mode which boasts 389bhp and 0-62mph in a fraction over 5-seconds, very swift indeed for a good-sized SUV/Crossover. The performance model obviously takes a hit on range, but you can still get up to 248 miles on a full charge, which is respectable.

If you are looking for an electric SUV for towing the Aria can also offer up to 1500KG of towing which could cover you for 4-6 birth caravans in most cases

ProPilot can also help you park the car, automatically keep your distance from cars in front and the new automatic emergency braking system can apply the brakes to prevent a collision when going forwards and when reversing.
