The 6th generation VW Golf is due to go on sale in the UK in January 2009. The new design of the ever-popular Golf draws on the design of the VW Scirocco.
Available in three trim levels and in a range of engine types, the new VW Golf continues to offer drivers a car which sets benchmarks in style, quality and safety. See UK Car Discount for a range of cheap new VW Golf models.
The 3 trim levels are S, SE and GT and all have a high level of standard specification. The entry-level S has features including ABS and ESP, 7 airbags, climatic air conditioning plus electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors.
There is a choice of 4 petrol engines plus 2 diesel engines ranging from a 1.4 litre 80 PS petrol engine up to 2.0 litre common rail diesel units giving 110 or 140 PS.
VW is offering several options on the new model Golf. For example, VW’s Adaptive Chassis Control (ACC) lets the driver select from normal, comfort or sport modes to define the desired suspension, steering and acceleration response setting for any journey. Park Assist is also available as an option, taking over steering inputs to aid with parallel parking.
VW say this is the most refined Golf model yet – it has design advances to reduce wind noise, a new door design plus window seals, a new damping file that supports the windscreen and a new engine mounting system.
