New Mazda MX-5 Coupe Cabriolet

The cheap new Mazda MX-5 is to join the coupe cabriolet brigade next year when the firm introduces a three piece folding hard roof, according to autoweek.com.

However, the added weight of the system will surprise some fans after great efforts were made to slim down the cheap new Mazda MX-5. The manufacturer even left the regular folding canvas top manual to save precious pounds.

Elsewhere the use of new high-strength, low weight steels have allowed the cheap new Mazda to stay nimble. Meanwhile the holes that have been drilled in the pedals, and the low profile rear view mirror illustrate Mazda's almost obsessive preoccupation with weight.

The alterations have left the entry level new MX-5 with improved standard spec and just 10kg of extra weight.

As well as the weight the price has also remained low making this one of the best value cheap new Mazda MX-5 variants on the market.
