The new Lexus RC F is now on sale in the UK for a hefty £59,995 and will arrive over here in time for the March 15 Plate.

The RD F is based on the Lexus IS, and this performance coupe will be available in two versions at launch, the standard RC F and a racing trimmed £67,995 Carbon variant, with both featuring a new 5.0-litre V8, producing 450bhp and 520Nm. This married to an eight speed automatic gearbox featuring manual paddles as a standard feature, and is backed up on the road by Brembo brakes, an active rear wing and Lexus’ Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system.

A new torque-vectoring diff is available, – standard on the RC F Carbon models – giving the driver a choice of three options to “optimise traction and vehicle control”.

Both of these new models also get the latest LED headlights, including automatic high beam function, as well as the dual-zone climate control, 19-inch alloy wheels and an impressive touchscreen multimedia system with DAB radio, a DVD player and satnav all fitted.

To guarantee peace of mind there is safety kit in the form of eight airbags, Hill Assist Control, blind spot monitors, plus Lane Departure and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Comfort is likewise taken care of thanks to cruise control, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, keyless entry, parking sensors and a reversing camera.

Advantages to the RC F Carbon are specially-designed alloy wheels; Alcantara upholstery, heated front seats, and a Mark Levinson surround sound system. The flagship Lexus also gains LFA-derived carbon fibre-reinforced plastic for the roof, bonnet and rear spoiler, which keep the weight down to a minimum.

Optional extras across the range extend to metallic paint and an Adaptive Cruise Control and pre-crash safety system package.
