The new Honda Civic Type R Prototype has been revealed at the 2016 Mondial de L’Automobile in Paris, offering an insight into the styling of the next-generation Civic Type R that will be officially launched in 2017.

The exterior is wrapped in a special brushed aluminium finish which is highly reflective, creating a unique look to the performance prototype. An aggressive, racing front bumper is complemented by a winged carbon fibre front splitter and slatted ducts up the side for a wider look.

Featuring the same red Honda front badge that is present on all Type R models, followed up by a bonnet air scoop and all LED lights at the front. Carbon fibre side skirts run along the side along with a red accent line running around the whole of the car that also matches the 20-inch piano black alloy wheels with a red outline.

A substantial and muscular rear diffuser on the rear is housing three tailpipes and carrying on the red theme with a red finish on the smaller central exhaust.

The Civic Type R will be manufactured in the UK alongside the new Civic just recently announced and imported around the world. Based on previous Type R prototypes and their retail counterparts you can fully expect to pick up a Type R looking very similar to this in the second half of next year.
