In the Beginning a 1.6 Litre TDI diesel with 113bhp will be available alongside the 1.4 litre TFSI petrol with front wheel drive only.
A manual six speed transmission will be standard across the range with the seven speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox will be available as a paid option on all engines apart from the 1.0 litre three cylinder. Audi’s proven and well refined, four wheel drive system, Quattro, will be available from mid 2017 onwards.
What's new on the Audi Q2?
It’s good to see that Audi is adding the very latest in safety technology as standard, in the form of Audi’s Pre-Sense Collision avoidance and pedestrian recognition. Other paid extras available include traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and lane keeping assistance.
The very latest in Smartphone connectivity will be standard with support for both Apple with Car play and Android with Android Auto. This will allow screen sharing of the phone to use apps such as Google maps or easily find contacts using voice control.
New styling features include a high mounted octagonal front grille and an impressive rear spoiler and diffuser. Keen to appeal to the younger audience, Audi has made a wide range of different colours available to the exterior and also the interior trims. Also there is a distinctive C-pillar trim that can be painted in a contrasting shade to the rest of the car.
The standard SE will come with 16-inch alloy wheels. The sport model will feature 17-inch alloy wheels and sport seats while the S line models include 18-icnh alloys, LED headlamps and rear lights, LED interior lighting, inlays finished in brushed aluminium and leather sport seats.
