New 2014 Nissan X-Trail Preview
Published Date: 2nd Sep 2013
The all new Nissan X-Trail is set to be unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show.
The new X-Trail borrows some of the design and styling features from the Hi-Cross concept that was revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, with the same LED light signature and a chromed ‘U’ in the centre of the grille encompassing the Nissan badge.
The new X-Trail takes advantage of the same platform as the next-generation Qashqai, also shared with Renault. It’s called the Common Modular Family platform and it's thought used 11 future Renault models will be built on this same platform.
Although not yet officially confirmed motoring experts expect the 2014 Nissan X-Trail to be a 7 seater. This could mean the end for the Nissan Qashqai+2 model in the not too distant future with Nissan possibly looking at the X-Trail as its replacement.
Nissan are also aiming to make the X-Trail a smoother on-road vehicle in an effort to attract new buyers. Comfort in the cabin and a softer ride are thought to be amongst Nissan’s priority for the new model.
Following its unveiling at Frankfurt Motor Show , the new 2014 X-Trail could be available in UK showrooms by early 2014.
