New 14 Plate Release

New Car Deals 2014 63 plate & 14 plate

So were coming to the end of the 63 plate era with March fast approaching and the new 14 plate on the horizon, but the question is should you buy now or should you wait until the sparkling new 14 plate arrives? Many dealerships around the country will be trying to clear their forecourts in preparation for the new 14 plate release on 1st March 2014.

They’ll be trying to offload all their pre-registered 63 plate vehicles as they will suffer residual loss as soon as the new 2014 plate is released, and would rather sell them on at a slightly discounted price to avoid this loss. So if you’re looking for some last minute new car deals and are not really bothered about the bragging rights of a shiny new 14 plate, this is an excellent way to save a few quid.

There is a downside though. You will not benefit from the full warranty, as the manufacturer warranty starts as soon as the new car is registered. This can be a problem for some people. So it seems the best course of action is to check when the 63 plate vehicle was registered to establish exactly how much of the warranty remains.

And now it’s onwards and upwards to the new 14 plate. This will give you the slightly better feeling you get when you buy something new as it is the latest edition, and you can take the trophy of the newest car on your street. Until your cheeky neighbour trumps you in six months with a 64 plate vehicle coupled with a big smile.

The new 2014 14 plate vehicle is due to start appearing on cars from 1st march 2014, but in reality most customers who have pre-ordered their car won’t receive it until the 3rd March due to the fact that the 1st lands on a Saturday and is not a normal working day. Although, if you have purchased from a local dealer they may allow you to pick the car up, but with this you’ll most lightly be paying full price for the car.

The benefits of buying your new 14 plate online is that you will save thousands of pounds compared to your local dealer, and as the online sector of vehicle retail continues to grow and grow it makes you wonder about the future of car dealers. The momentum is with online car dealers and those benefiting from the great savings available can expect their brand new 14 plate vehicle delivered to their home from Monday 3rd march 2014.

So you may have to wait a few more days for your new 14 plate car from an online dealer, but for example on a new TOYOTA YARIS 1.33 VVT-i Trend Nav 5dr you can save a total of £2905 off the retail price. This represents a saving of around £1450 per day you have to wait for the car.

So what will you choose?    63 plate or 14 plate/Local dealer or online dealer.
