The New Mazda CX-7 Is Announced

Published Date: 15th Dec 2005

Mazda has announced details of its forthcoming CX-7 model, which is scheduled to reach American retailers this spring.

It is hoped the result will be an SUV that is fun and practical to drive, but also has Mazda's trademark 'Soul of a Sportscar'.

It has a turbocharged 2.3-litre, four-cylinder direct-injection petrol engine, with antilock brakes and six-speed automatic transmission to help deliver this aim.

Standard features include 18-inch tyres and wheels, form-fitting front bucket sears and a three-dial instrument cluster.

With a rear-wheel driving powertrain, unique styling and a range of onboard utilities, the car has been pitched for new first-time car buyers who take pleasure in the driving experience.

The car will be officially launched at the Los Angeles and Detroit motor shows in early January, where buyers and industry experts can experience some sportscar 'soul' for themselves.
