Mason Comments On No-Frills Car Insurance
Published Date: 1st Jun 2006
Richard Mason, director of price comparison website insuresupermarket, has commented on Tesco's new no-frills car insurance policy.
Mr Mason said the policy offers "motorists a decent level of protection" without "charging them a fortune".
He did however add that "despite this no-frills option enabling drivers to keep costs down, motorists need to watch out for the restrictions and what is not included.
"Notably, it is not available for anyone under 21, does not protect your no-claims discount and repairs must be carried out by approved mechanics."
Tesco's new car insurance policy was developed following consumer research into what kind of premiums best suit drivers' needs.
The policies start at around £2 more a month than standard third-party cover, which is about £50 less than its other comprehensive policy.
